U.S. Coast Guard renames two Great Lakes command sectors

The U.S. Coast Guard is renaming two of its Great Lakes command sectors, the agency said Nov. 27. Sector Buffalo will become “Sector Eastern Great Lakes.” Sector Sault Ste. Marie will become “Sector Northern Great Lakes.” Both are part of the Ninth Coast Guard District, which is responsible for the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway.
