Smelters gather for last hurrah at favorite Milwaukee lakefront site

While many people turned their sights skyward at sunset last Tuesday to view an uncommon alignment of Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury and Uranus, a gathering just as rare and far less heralded was forming along the Milwaukee harbor.
Here, on the public waterfront on Jones Island, smelt fishers congregated to try their luck.
