Smith: Return of Milwaukee River sturgeon a hopeful milestone

On a day off last week from his job as a Department of Natural Resources conservation warden, Steve Swiertz took his kids fishing at one of their favorite spots, the Milwaukee River, a handful of miles north of downtown Milwaukee.
It ended up being an epic day not for fish caught but those seen.
