Lake Superior water level drops more than usual in October

The level of Lake Superior dropped 2.8 inches in October, more than double the usual 1.2-inch decline, the International Lake Superior Board of Control reported Tuesday.
The big lake now sits 5.1 inches below the Nov. 1 level in 2019, but is still 9.1 inches above average.
